We decided to share with you from our mailbox. We receive many kind letters, some expressing very well the heartbeat of Rainbow Bible Ranch. We desire to keep in touch with you all.

Alan and Melanie Gerbholz  of Colorado Write:

We sincerely want to express our gratitude to Rainbow Bible Ranch and all the staff and counselors. Our daughter Ashley attended Legacy II this year. Little did we know that God would use her and Rainbow Bible Ranch to change our lives.

We had been faithful Christians in the past for a long time, raising our oldest 3 children, Ashley's brother and sisters, in the Lord. The world started slowly creeping in. We became busier and busier but with all the wrong things. We moved onto a ranch and slowly we started falling away, rationalizing that we didn't have time to go to church any more and that there was too much to do and get done. Years started passing by and our baby girl was growing up: only without God in our lives.

We had heard about Rainbow Bible Ranch from a neighbor and we decided that we should send Ashley. Ashley loved horses and was a good rider. She had a curiosity about God but no knowledge or relationship with Him, (our fault), so we sent her to camp. She went to Legacy I twice and loved it. She learned a lot and slowly grew to know God. She looked forward to summer because it meant she could go to camp. This year she went to Legacy II. Now 14, she was turning into a lovely young lady.

We arrived for the Friday rodeo and devotional not realizing that our lives were about to change. Ashley's life had changed. Our baby girl stood up at the devotional and let us know how God was changing her and that she wanted us to change our lives and let God back into our family. We were so touched by what God was saying to us through our youngest daughter that together the three of us committed to putting God first in our lives and commit to serving and following Him.

Since camp we have gone back to church and studying the Word regularly. Touched by our angel, Ashley.

(She) has been a changed person and has been doing great in following God in spite of the trials and temptations of High School.

Words can't express how grateful we are that our lives are back on track, totally as a result of Ashley's experiences at Rainbow Bible Ranch.

Denny & Kari Kannenberg (Kelli's grandparents) of Minnesota Write:

As grandparents to a long time camper, we are not really sure words can be plunked on a sheet of paper, that give an understanding of what Rainbow Bible Ranch means to the campers, and campers families. It certainly runs deeper than the one or two weeks the kids enjoy at the ranch. All through the year, the kids draw from the “well” of experiences at camp. From the friends they made, to the staff, whom often had to nudge them in the right direction.

The end of Legacy II 2005 turned out to be one of the most emotion filled 6 hours these grandparents have experienced in a very long time. I refer to the depth of understanding these teenagers have grasped in their very young lives. As most of you already know, Julia was born the Wednesday morning of the final week of Legacy II. The schedule at the ranch was very hectic, busy, hot, etc. Larry asked the campers to get up at the evening service and say a little something in lieu of him conducting the event. Wow, 25 of the 32 kids came to the microphone, not a note in hand, and spoke to the parents, guests and campers from their hearts. Some expressed concern for friends, some for family members, but all spoke to each other like true brothers and sisters in Christ. I would encourage everyone to take an hour, sit down with a cup of coffee and read every word that these campers wrote for the Legacy II journal. Then take a minute and reflect that these words were written by teenagers who will be running our world in the next generation. Thank you Lord.

Parents, you have been given a very special gift, being responsible for guiding these kids to adulthood. In my opinion, you have made another good decision by getting them to Rainbow. Rainbow seems to be real life. Not a pleasure camp, and pardon me Larry, but not fancy either. Yes, they get to do a lot of horseback riding, but not before they understand the details of caring for the animal.

We come from a long distance to bring our campers, every mile is worth it!

The Ed and Sue Egbert family of Piedmont, South Dakota Write:

We are very thankful for the ministry that you provide through Rainbow Bible Ranch. Thank you for your dedication and faithfulness! You are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you and your family.

Ron and Jennifer Tietsort of Custer, South Dakota Write:

Rainbow Bible Ranch has a special place in my heart. For years while I was stationed at Wall, I was able to work with Larry and the gang. We would stock and seine bass in the ponds on the ranch. We even released some wild turkeys on the place. And then the times I would speak to the young counselors about wildlife issues, creation and whatever else they were interested in.

All those years of going out to Rainbow, I always thought how cool it would be to send my own children to camp. While growing up myself I had a desire to attend a camp, but it never worked out. I decided that things would change if I ever had children of my own.

God has blessed me with two kids now and I couldn’t wait until my son Noah turned six so he would qualify for the Little Rancher’s Camp. My Son turned six last January, so I was more excited than Noah at first, but it wasn’t long before the excitement became contagious, especially after I told him about the horses , swimming hole and all the other fun things there are to do. The excitement was in the air when we pulled into the ranch the first day of camp. It was obvious that Noah was going to have a great time and that’s just what happened.

When we returned the following day, Noah had a huge grin on his face. The camp was a real blessing for Noah and he was already talking about going back the following year.

My wife and I really appreciate the hard work that Larry, Robin and all the staff put in to make Rainbow such a wonderful adventure for all the campers. I think Noah’s favorite saying he learned at camp was, “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” Thanks for everything..

Joel and Kim Buseman of Canistota, South Dakota Write:

Rainbow has really been a blessing for D.J. the past few years. It’s been fun to hear the stories he has to share when he gets home. For him, it’s a chance to do the things he knows, loves, and has great people to do them with. This year he talked a lot about his counselors and the times they shared together. There’s been a number of times as we worked together this summer that he would bring up Rainbow. Whether it would be Scripture he learned, things you shared, or the horse he rode. They’ve all been good memories for him.

Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into these young people and sharing the Word in a way that makes it real to them.

Patt Fleming and Kassidy Kaltvedt of Eastern South Dakota Write:

Larry, Robin, Staff and everyone at the rodeo on

August 12, 2005,

This is just a small note of thanks to you all for all the prayers and assistance you gave to Kass and I after her accident. You will never know how thankful we are for all you did. It is only thru your prayers and quick reaction that Kass is alive today. I don't remember the names of all medical people who were there with Kass but I remember your kindness and knowledge and strength, Thanks to you all!!!  Thanks to all the wranglers and staff for their quick reaction and ability to catch and calm the horse and remove Kass so quickly. Thanks to all the staff who removed the other kids and kept them calm and unafraid and especially their concern for Phoebe. And a BIG thanks to all the parents and spectators who prayed and held us up during this time. I truly believe that Kass was healed of any injury as you began to pray. She is bruised up pretty good and stiff but there are no injuries. PRAISE GOD!!!!!! Thanks to the young man who drove me to the hospital. WHAT A RIDE! Ha Ha.  Thanks to Larry for all the extra running he did to get me my car, and for his continued concern. And thanks to the folks who drove my car down to me. If I have forgotten anyone I am sorry but the old mind isn't as sharp as it used to be. We feel so blessed by you all I pray the Lord will bless you all in excess.
