RAINBOW REFLECTOR - The Newsletter for Rainbow Bible Ranch

Rainbow Reflector Autumn 2002

The Roundup

By Larry Reinhold

The Lord blessed us with a great summer with 421 campers in attendance from 13 different states. They included South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wyoming, Maryland, Iowa, Arizona, Montana, Washington, Kansas, California and Nevada. It is always fun to have kids from near and far get together. We praise the Lord for over 70 decisions for Christ this past summer. Many other young people grew in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Legacy III proved to valuable training once again. Our staff overflowed as they shared with the many kids from a wide variety of backgrounds. Nearly all of this years staff were Legacy certified.

Receiving certificates and their Rainbow Bible Ranch jackets this year were Lisa Spader of Black Hawk, Joel Morris of Sturgis, Miles Robison of Tilford, Michael Joneson of Rapid City, Leah Baltzer of Tripp, Brandy Young of Onida, Raechel O’Dell of Kennebec and Seth Rhoden of Union Center. Our congratulations to each and every one of you.

Each year along with the jackets that are valued at $100.00, we also give out $900.00 in Scholarships and awards to qualified Legacy III participants.

The recipient of the Tige and Vicky Reinhold scholarship was Andrew Dusing of Hill City. The $500.00 award is presented to a student who has put out an extra effort and shown a desire to grow in Christ.

Jana Morris received the Harold Churchwell award. Jana earned the $100.00 award for her faithfulness and servanthood.

The Lonetree award is given to the individual that uses the working ranch setting of Lonetree Ranch to further the ministry to the youth that are part of RBR. This $300.00 scholarship, sponsored by the Lonetree Ranch, went Megan Amdahl. Megan actively uses the agricultural setting to reach out and minister to the kids that are assigned to her as well as any others that she has contact with.

The Board of Directors of RBR desires to thank each of the young people that were part of this year’s team for their commitment.
