Rainbow Reflector Autumn 2002

There is a lesson I learned young in life,
Oreo cookies taught me this lesson in the past;
Remember how we would take them apart
Always saving the best part until the last.

I remember sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner,
Eating turkey and stuffing till I would sigh,
Yet my eye was looking toward the counter
That was loaded with desserts and pumpkin pie.

I shall always remember at Christmas time,
How I loved to decorate the tree;
But more exciting when the presents were brought out
On a tag my name I did see.

I remember planting a garden,
I would pull weeds till the blisters would form;
I would look ahead and in my heart I knew,
Down those rows would come beans, peas, and corn.

I watched this summer of drought
Hot days, no rain, no fun,
Yet when those weeks and months ended
God blessed us with a beautiful Grandson!!!!!!

I have stood by the graves of three sons,
With broken heart, I felt my life was done;
The Lord gently tapped me on the shoulder
Reminding me, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!!!!!!!!

Now campers, the Oreo cookie has a lesson for you,
Walk with Jesus until your life is done;
You've had wonderful horseback rides on the prairie
But I assure you, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!!!!!!
