RAINBOW REFLECTOR - The Newsletter for Rainbow Bible Ranch

Rainbow Reflector Spring 2002

Where Are They Now?

Over the years, we have been blessed with a growing number of young people who give their summer months to serving the Lord on staff at Rainbow Bible Ranch. They truly become part of our family here. It is a thrill for us to hear from former staff members and how so many continue in the ministry in various ways. Here are some updates on just a few that you may remember from years past.

If you have been acquainted with Rainbow since our beginning over 22 years ago, you will remember Heidi (Stovner) Kruse. Heidi was in on the “dream” stage of Rainbow Bible Ranch, and played a big part in the planning and development of this ministry. She was part of our full time staff for six years, serving in everything from typing newsletters to working in the kitchen to saddling horses. After meeting and courting Daniel Kruse right here at Rainbow, they were married on January 12, 1985 and Heidi became a ranch wife, living and working alongside her husband in the Badlands, near Interior, SD. They are pictured below with their children, Casie, 15 and Marshal, 12. Casie has been a student in Legacy III this year.

Heidi’s involvement with Rainbow did not end when she got married, however. Her heart and passion for this ministry have blessed us over the years as she continues to serve on our Board of Directors. Thank you, Heidi for your investment in Rainbow…past, present and future!

Jodi Churchwell was just a little girl when she made her first visit to Rainbow. After “growing up” out here, we were blessed to see her join our staff in 1986, serving as a girls’ counselor. A couple of summers later, we were doubly blessed when she returned with her good friend from college, Brent DeJong, who served as a boys’ counselor. They both did an outstanding job, and had a big impact on many lives.

Brent and Jodi were married in 1989, and are raising four beautiful children for the Lord; Jessica, Brandon, Jonathan and Brianna (pictured above).

They have continued in ministry, and for the past seven years have ranched and preached and held Bible studies near Hammond, MT. They have recently moved to Broadus, MT, where Brent is now pastoring the First Baptist Church. We are now enjoying the second generation of DeJongs come to camp at Rainbow!

It brings us great joy to see former staff continue in faithfulness to our Lord.
