Rainbow Reflector Thanksgiving/Christmas 2003

The Roundup

By Larry Reinhold

It was a record breaking year. We had more kids join us this past summer than ever before. The Lord blessed us with 448 campers in attendance from 18 different states. They included South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wyoming, Maryland, Iowa, Arizona, Montana, Washington, Kansas, California, Texas, North Dakota, Illinois, Oregon, Georgia, Michigan and Nevada. It is always fun to have kids from near and far get together. We praise the Lord for many decisions for Christ this past summer. Many young people grew in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Legacy III

Each year over $900.00 in scholarships and awards is given to qualified Legacy III participants.

The recipient of the Tige and Vicky Reinhold scholarship was Lisa Spader of Black Hawk, South Dakota. The $500.00 award is presented to a student who has put out an extra effort and shown a desire to grow in Christ.

Michael Joneson received the Harold Churchwell award. Michael is so very deserving of the $100.00 award for his faithful leadership and work servanthood.

The Lonetree award is given to the individual that uses the working ranch setting of Lonetree Ranch to further the ministry to the youth that are part of RBR. This $300.00 scholarship, sponsored by the Lonetree Ranch, went to Leah Baltzer. Leah thoroughly enjoys the outdoors and is quite a hand with the horses. She actively uses the agricultural setting to reach out and minister to the kids that are assigned to her as well as any others that she has contact with.

The Board of Directors of RBR desires to thank each of the young people that were part of this year’s team for their commitment.
