Rainbow Reflector
Winter 2003Dear Heavenly Father
By Larry B. Reinhold
“I come before You today, not in my knowledge, but seeking after Your wisdom. I must admit that at times I am impatient, but my desire is to wait on You, Lord. And Lord, I seek Your peace. You know, the kind that passes all understanding. Lord, please give your guidance and strength as the day before me has many uncertainties
and will call for power beyond me.
Lord, thank You for the privilege of working with all those young people that are at camp, today. The world is still big and new to most of them and the grandeur of life has all of the possibility of being great.
Please, Lord, keep them safe. Life is still an experiment and they are striving to see around the next corner. Curiosity drives them to new heights and maybe even to new depths. Lord, not many will step into my boots, due to overwhelming responsibility, but thank You for making these boots for me as the steps I take each day are directed by You and prove to be very rewarding. Lord, I know I can’t run as fast as these kids, but thanks for keeping my perspective youthful. I don’t want to be a crotchety old man, but rather one with experience and who can do something with it.
Their minds, Lord? Keep their hearts pure and their minds clear. Help me to steer them away from the gutter that is filled with the slime of this world. They don’t need that. Please just guide them in a discipline each day that will keep them on the upper ground poised for living a life that is pleasing to You.
Their soul; may it be placed in your ever loving hands. Eternity is a very long time and even our short time on earth. What can I say? You saw so much need and loved so deeply that You gave the ultimate sacrifice in Your beloved Son. You paid so much to redeem us . I thank you, Heavenly Father for that gift. Oh, how I want these kids to have that precious blessing of hope for now and eternity.
We desire to faithfully plant the seed. We know how You love children. Daily we will seek your grace and may always reflect You.
Amen.
