RAINBOW REFLECTOR - The Newsletter for Rainbow Bible Ranch

Rainbow Reflector Winter 2003

Where Are They Now?

Over the years, we have been blessed with a growing number of young people who give their summer months to serving the Lord on staff at Rainbow Bible Ranch. They truly become part of our family here. It is a thrill for us to hear from former staff members and how so many continue in the ministry in various ways. Here are some updates on just a few that you may remember from years past.

In the early days of Rainbow Bible Ranch, we were privileged to work with Jolene Dexter (pictured above with her parents) of Lead, South Dakota. In her quiet way, she excelled as a counselor. Daily she would demonstrate a servant heart and love the children she work with. Today she calls Wisconsin home, and she still is demonstrating that desire to serve. May of 2002 found her in Honduras working with medical mission team. The team that she was with saw over 600 patients. She also was able to spend some time with her parents, who still call the Black Hills home, traveling to Washington and Canada.

Many of you will recall Sarah Churchwell Diaz (pictured top right) who was with us for years, first as a camper and then as a very committed counselor. She is married to Eli, who was also a camper. They reside in Rapid City where Eli works with the police department. Sarah is a homemaker which keeps her busy as Eli and Sarah have two children. Praetoria Lee is their little girl who enjoys reading and gymnastics. Silas is their little boy who is three years old. He loves his puppy and his trucks as well as keeping his family delighted.

We have many good memories of Eli and Sarah and look forward to their children attending as campers at Rainbow. Keep up the good work.

It was not that long ago Jeremy and Charity Ericks Cook (pictured at bottom center) of Rapid City were part of the everyday scene here at the ranch. They both started as campers. In fact I have many good memories of Charity’s Dad coming to the ranch even before there was a Rainbow Bible Ranch. Charity worked as a counselor and Jeremy was one of my wranglers. They were the kind that would “Go for it”. Today finds them as newlyweds as they have been married one year this past November. As time move one we find Jeremy working fulltime as an electrician in the Rapid City region. He looks forward to the day when he can take his journeyman's test and work as an independent contractor. Charity is going for a longtime dream of getting a bachelors degree in nursing. She has two years of schooling to go but is excited that she is now more into the nursing aspect and clinicals.

From all of us at RBR; thank you for sharing your lives with us over the years and remember, “The best is yet to come.”
