"QUIET TIME"

Every morning the campers go outside and do their "QTs" (Quiet Time) before breakfast. These young ladies found the solace of the Pathfinder Garden to be just the right place for reading God's Word and praying. Heading into nearly the last day of camp... rodeo practice today and as well as shooting .22 rifles... this evening is the long awaited banquet and talent program. It is truly "A Good Day to be Alive in Western South Dakota."

GOOD MOISTURE IN JULY

5.12 inches of precipitation in July. "Amazing"

This spring and early summer looked bleak.... Very little precipitation from snow throughout the winter and spring rains just did not happen. June 25 we received a nice rain, however the Lord provided very nicely in July. We are so grateful. Our reporting station here at the ranch in cooperation with the National Weather Service is "Hereford 12SW"

WHEN FRIENDSHIP CONTINUES

When friendship continues over fifty years. High School friend Jay Cass stopped out and spent the afternoon with us at the ranch. Jay worked with us in the early 80's as well. Jay could be described as "old soul"... contemplative... wisdom and yes he still writes letter... not Facebook... and his letters may be three pages long and full of insight. Godspeed Old Friend.

Acknowledge the Resurrection Today, ..... But Will We Live

Nearly all recognize
...... Jesus existed as seen in history.

Many want a relationship
...... Jesus was a good man after all.

Many will rejoice
........Easter has been a season of renewal.

Most will accept
..... That Jesus Christ died, because people do.

Many will surmise
....... That Jesus Christ was buried and then

Some are convinced
..... That Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

Some will act
..... Jesus Christ said I am the way the truth the life.

Some will repent
......Jesus Christ calls us to be born again by faith

We acknowledge the resurrection today,
..... but will we live for the Living Christ tomorrow and for the rest of our days?

Faith and repentance go hand in hand in realizing the wonderful gift of salvation.

Christ died for our sins, and He was raised, proving the ultimate sacrifice.

We have hope because salvation is offered to us.

For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

WEATHERING THE WEATHER

The leaves were gently falling
One summer in the spring.
Winter is just around the corner
When the meadowlark begins to sing.

The long summer days seem too short.
The winter nights seem dark and long.
The full harvest moon of autumn rising
Sheds gilded light of high noon strong.

A killer October blizzard strikes.
A Chinook brings a January thaw.
Summer heat well over a hundred.
Drought seemingly is the last straw.

Relentless winds from all directions.
Midnight breeze brings pleasant rest.
The lightning brings a prairie fire
Hail and tornados add ire to the test.

Pitter patter of rain upon the roof.
Thunderous roar brings a flood.
Cracks in the ground await a drink
There's now life in the dust turned mud

Weather so extreme upon the prairie.
Extremes on the plains certainly amaze
Dakota weather amuses and confuses.
I will stand In awe through all my days.

JESUS IS THE ANSWER

My Dad, Tige Reinhold, enthusiastically promoted not only the sign at the beginning of our driveway, but the truth and testimony of the statement..."Jesus is the answer".

***

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear

May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer

Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

- Joseph Scriven, 1855 -

"WHEN"

When you begin to hear the silence
When you see as they tell you there is nothing to see
When your mind is continually seeking
When your heart is filled with joy and peace
When the dawning of each new day is a blessing
When the journey is more than a path to trod
When friendship proves to be a blessing to others
When each day is truly a gift from God.
