WE ARE STILL HERE...

We were hoping to get some good rain this past week. We were somewhat disheartened as we only received .13". The country is pretty dry. Still amazing how under the right sunlight the golden hue of these plains shine through.

The family was sitting at the dining room table this morning following breakfast. We were discussing some hard decisions that had to be made due to drought and heat of the past two years. Robin recalled that we had one of the hottest summers on record since 1936. I then pointed out that my dad as a boy sat in the same dining room with his parents discussing what they were going to do as well. They were in the midst of the Great Depression... The Dust Bowl... and the Nazis were already making inroads in much of Europe.

***

And here we were today... drought... uncertain economy... unrest around the world... and for certain pandemics... health and fear.

***

And that is the point... "We are still here today..." The Reinhold family has been eating and discussing and living in this same dining room of this old house on the Lonetree Ranch for nearly a century.

A testimony to God's faithfulness and provision...

And we will continue to trust Him as long as "we are still here" and "we will still be here as long as the Lord leads and we continue in His ways".

***

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentation 3:22-23

For we walk by faith, not by sight. II Corinthians 5:17

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

have been young, and am now old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
— PSALM 37:25

WHAT OTHERS HAD TO SAY….

An inspiring story. I too had a family with similar experiences. Our place now under great grandson of my father, hopefully will survive.

That’s what my dad always reminds us when we discuss current issues; that he was born in 1929 and has lived through many difficult seasons. He says you just get back up in the morning and put your cowboy boots back on again.

...Wonderful Faith-Fortifying Scriptures!! We often do what you dear ones were doing...while around the table, or at other Quiet Times. With Certainty, the Lord Jesus tells us to “Keep On-Keeping On!!” And then, He reminds us of the fact that HE ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES!! Then...in the not too distant future days—We are always Blessed to Enjoy...the Sure Fulfilling...of those [and Many Other] Scriptural Promises!! His Comforting Message is ALWAYS... “Keep Looking Up to ME...while filled with Faith and Trust!!” [Especially so, during the “tough times!!”]

Thank you Larry for sharing this. I have been blessed with good rain this past month but some of my neighbors got devastating hail as well. A friend of mine in particular, but he is of great faith and knows he will be fine. Though we have never personally met I have really come to think of you as my friend. Your faith and the faith of the friend of mine I mentioned increased mine as well! Thanks again for sharing these words and great passages. I hope it’s ok if I share them as well.

Beautiful photo, great teaching, and wonderful Scriptures. May I share this, Larry Robin Reinhold? I’m trusting with you that rain will be coming and your faith will be rewarded.

Keeping your family and RBR in my prayers! God bless you as you faithfully serve!

Such a great reminder to keep our eyes fixed on the One who takes care of us, not the situations in how it happens!!

For sure, I remember not too long ago it seems, that we wondered what we were going to do because of the drought but just kept praying and decided to go on a weekend vacation. It rained all the while we were gone! Came back to mud and refreshed dams! The power of prayer is AWESOME!
