The date above will truly be remembered by many. A day that was a tragedy that begged for triumph. A day that some wished would have brought America to her knees in defeat. And yes, Americans did bow for a time realizing how finite we are. Sadly, that time of searching for hope and answers lasted for a short while. The statement, “We will never forget” rings more like a gong than the clear voice of hope. I believe we as a country are more enchained than perhaps any time in our history of 250 years. Arrogance and greed have set us on a path away from God and biblical principle. It is often argued that America may or may not be a Christian country. I will say that throughout our history, much of our moral standard fit within biblical principle and I think there is evidence that God has blessed our nation abundantly. I am reminded in history that many countries and kingdoms have fallen from within first before they fell to another power or empire. Few would argue that the foundation of this country has not been shaken. Humility and meekness are no longer virtues within the fabric of this country. Is there hope? Only if we hearken to our national motto… In God We trust. The attitude that is displayed today hardly fits within that framework. And that is the case in our society from the halls of power where government leaders dwell… to the everyday workaday world… to the time that we spend in leisure … into our classrooms…. Into the dwellings that were once home… and even into the places of religion. Be assured that there is still a faithful remnant… God is not done… and to each one of us that adhere to His Word … may we be found faithful to the end. That is our calling… and let the passion of the call be evident to all around us.
