Michael Dale Ewart, 67, went home to his Lord on December 12, 2015, at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City.
Mike was born on July 13, 1948, and graduated from Des Moines High School. He spent 30 career years with the Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sargent. After retirement, Mike enjoyed volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity and doing handyman jobs for older people in town.
In 2008, Mike married Jana (Annett) Menning. They purchased an RV and traveled, volunteering at various state parks and National Wildlife Refuges around the country, then ended up being snowbirds in Tucson, AZ.
He is survived by his wife, Jana Ewart, his mother, three sisters and one brother. Mike is preceded in death by his first wife, Linnea Julaine (Julie) Ewart, and his father.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 16 at Kirk Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery, with full military honors from Ellsworth AFB.
