TODAY... I MISSED YOU GRANDPA

BY RACHEL MARIE REINHOLD
Today....
I missed you, Grandpa.
I missed helping you into the house for dinner.
Today. I missed telling you that we got a new calf! And seeing how excited you were to hear that it was doing well!
Today... I missed you getting to the table and looking into my eyes, squeezing my hand and saying “Happy Birthday! I sure love you!”
Today. I missed You praying… “We Thank You Dear Lord…”

SEPTEMBER 2016 UPDATE

One month ago, we finished our summer season of camp at RBR. And oh, what a summer it proved to be. Our theme “The Greatest Race” allowed for many examples and stories to share with the kids that were in  attendance. Our staff did and outstanding job and it was evident that many were praying with us for a successful season. Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support. You are an integral part of the team.

JUNE 2016 UPDATE

his past Sunday, I was guest speaker at a congregation in Sturgis. My Topic…”The Call”. I challenged the audience to the “passion of the call”. We have enjoyed visiting different churches before camp starts. It is one of the blessings that comes along with being in this ministry.

At Hill City

The family and I had the privilege of sharing about the camp this morning at the Little White Church in Hill City, SD. We have enjoyed a long history of working with this congregation in reaching kids with the Gospel....going back to the beginning of RBR. It was so nice to be with these fine folks as we gathered in the newly remodeled auditorium.

I will be preaching in Sturgis next week at the First Presbyterian Church filling in for Pastor Nonhoff. Looking forward to that time as well.

Opportunity

I enjoy so very much the opportunity to visit with audiences especially when they are kids. Today Robin and I went to Calvary Christian School in Rapid City. Mr. Mike Causey and his wife Mary Jane have so faithfully served there for so many years. And then it was so special to see Miss Chelsea Schlauger as one of the Third grade teachers. Chelsea has been a part of RBR for many years.

On Wednesday, I was able to speak to the children and faculty at Christian Heritage School in Gillette, WY. They are another great group of kids. A couple of more opportunities to speak in the near future include Little White Church in Hill City on May 15th and the Sturgis Presbyterian Church on May 22nd. Looking forward to the opportunity, Pastor Nonhof.

WINTER PLANTING BRINGS APRIL FLOWERS

The top photo is of Caleb planting tulip bulb on a nice day in December. The bottom photo is of the results. Encouraging your child to garden is a very valuable form of education. Lessons learned with results that make us smile.

Springtime...Part of me wishes my folks were still here for this. Dad would be asking to pick some of these to take home to his beloved bride

I LOVE WHAT I DO

You know I love this horse...we have made a great team for quite a few years. Saturday at the track meet, a little boy came up to me and said, "Do you remember giving me a ride on your horse." With a little prompting from Robin, I replied that I did. After all, there have been hundreds or more. A little later the boy, Kanin, returned with his little brother. We talked and then he looked up at me and said, "Will you give me a ride on your horse, too?"

I love what I do....For the Kingdom.

NATIONAL AG DAY

In honor of #NationalAgDay! I am so very thankful to live the life that I do. The farmers and ranchers in our nation are some of the most incredible, caring and hardest-working people that I have ever met. The passion and love they have for their family, land, animals and community is unbelievable. It breaks my heart to see the false image that so many people have of agriculture. It's so much more then a "job". It runs much deeper then that. It is a lifestyle. It is a passion and it is a necessity to life. It's about the values and love passed down from generation to generation. Most importantly, it's about being stewards of what God has given us. It's all about the Legacy....
It's true, there are probably better ways to make a living, but in my opinion, there is no better way to live!

Flicka

Said goodbye to a pretty special friend the other night. Flicka was around 35-36 years old and she more than served her purpose. You see around here we have 'missionary cats' and 'missionary horses'. Flicka served faithfully her whole entire life and I am so grateful that God has given me the privilege of working with horses with such heart. She could turn on a dime, knew the “Rainbow Pattern” by heart and would take care of the smallest kid and give them the confidence that they needed to take the next step.

The last few days with Flicka when we would bring her to the barn for the night and for grain she would follow me anywhere... You could call her name and she would come. Flicka survived the storm Atlas in 2013 along with 6 other horses. I was so happy to find that she had pulled through! She was a special horse that holds a special place in my heart. Thanks God for Flicka. I am gonna miss her.

Legacy III in Downtown Rapid City

I was pleased that Robin brought her camera along so that I could share with you the good times that we have with the Legacy III group. Last night Julia and Kiersten joined us. They love spending time with these young adults because they are made to feel welcome. A number of the these people have worked with us at Rainbow Bible Ranch...or will one day.
